A team of two students from Grade 5 with a minimum of one girl participant will design a single-level game using Scratch 3.0 as their preliminary submission on the given theme.

Each team of two students from Grade 5 will create a single-level game in Scratch 3.0. The task is to design an AI Avatar sprite and launch it in an appropriate backdrop.

The 8 teams qualifying for the Finals will be announced on the website on 26 July.

The game must include the following elements :

Prelimnary round - Chapter 1 Theme: Ethical Use of Technology

Task : Design a single level Scratch game based on the theme “Ethical Use of Technology.”

Your game should immerse the player in a digital challenge or crisis where they must make safe, responsible, and ethical decisions. Through engaging gameplay, encourage players to apply critical thinking, problem-solving, and good judgment to overcome obstacles and make informed choices in a digital environment.

Participants are encouraged to create an original storyline, characters, gameplay mechanics, and scoring system while ensuring that the game’s message aligns with the given theme.

The teams that have QUALIFIED for the SCRATCH MANIA! FINALS in no particular order are:

Submission Details

  • Upload your game (sb3 file) by the deadline.
  • File Naming Convention: <ScratchMania>_<schoolname>

8 shortlisted teams will qualify for the Final Round. The teams making it to the finals will be announced on 26th July. The final event will be held offline at Shri Ram School Moulsari and students will get 2 hours to make a single level chapter 2.

Teams will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Technical Expertise
  • Relevance to the Topic
  • Design and Creativity
  • Overall Appeal

Timeline

Topic Release for Prelims: Friday, 10th July

Submissions of Prelims: Monday, 20th July

Announcement of qualifiers for Final Round: Sunday, 26th July
